The sky is the limit when it comes to surgical capabilities to restore comfort, health, and a confident smile.

By partnering with Orion Dental Specialties, you and your family can enjoy all the services you’ll ever need – all from under our well-appointed roof. Our dentists, Drs Melanie and Farnam Farzam, are equipped to handle complex oral as well as maxillofacial surgery cases. At other dentists’ offices in Cypress, Texas, and beyond, surgical extractions for impacted wisdom teeth would be referred to other specialty practices. At our practice, you get to know our team and remain with them. We truly provide “total family care,” as all of your needs can be handled in-house.

Surgical interventions to resolve conditions affecting the oral cavity, maxillofacial tissues, and structures of the jaws and face come in many forms. Our capabilities include:

  • Surgical extraction – Our dentists have the onsite expertise and capabilities to reliably extract a fractured tooth or a tooth that is challenging to access. For instance, a partly or fully “impacted” tooth is not completely visible or easy to grasp through “simple” techniques or non-surgically. Of course, for essential teeth that are removed, we will discuss ways to replace them right away, too.
  • Third molars treatment – Also known as “wisdom teeth,” these back-most molars usually form late, around a patient’s late teens to early 20s. Because they attempt to erupt so late, there is often inadequate room for them by that time. So, they may break through the gums at angles or otherwise become “stuck” in the mouth – either entirely or partially “impacted” under tissue in the jaw. In addition to potentially severe aching and pressure, impacted teeth are also associated with serious complications (such as damage to a neighboring tooth or other supportive tissues). Our dentists restore your comfort, health, and function efficiently with safe, precision surgery to remove wisdom teeth that do not erupt properly.
  • Implant placement – Drs Farzam also has the skills and tools to offer “complete implant services.” Many dental offices may place the restoration (such as a crown) after the implant is surgically inserted; these dentists must refer patients to other providers for implant placement. We have the tools, training, and considerable experience to safely and precisely apply these “artificial tooth roots” in the jawbone. Once healed, we can connect or attach the prosthetic teeth to the implant. So, it can function as designed – optimally holding the new teeth (crown, bridge, or denture) in place!
  • Regenerative procedures – We can rebuild everything from diseased or damaged gums to deteriorated bone in the jaw with precise surgical techniques. Via bone or gum grafting, we can prepare your mouth for dental implants or restore a healthy, balanced gum line.

Of course, this is only a quick glimpse into the many surgical capabilities available at Orion Dental Specialties. The sky truly is the limit here. To experience our distinctive capabilities, start by scheduling an appointment. Call our office in Cypress, TX, today at (832) 906-8313.
